Older Adult Centers
JASA's 17 Older Adult Centers throughout New York City are a "home away from home" for adults 60 years and older seeking group activities, company, friendships, trips, special events, or a hot meal. JASA's Centers provide 13,000 center members with a vibrant meeting place to socialize with friends, participate in arts and cultural programs, exercise and learn about healthy living, and celebrate life events. JASA emphasizes intergenerational activities, computer literacy and training, and offers numerous health screenings and resources to ensure that seniors stay healthy and engaged.
JASA's Older Adult Centers serve daily kosher and non-kosher meals in a group setting where nutritious food and good conversation are always on the menu. Grab-and-go meals are also available. Please contact your specific center for more information.
JASA Older Adult Centers continue to offer virtual programming for FREE, OPEN to all NYC Residents 60+ with access to a phone or device. To find virtual activities offered by JASA's Older Adult Centers see the calendars below.
Centers marked with an asterisk (*) below participate in the New York City Department for the Aging (DFTA) initiative to bring mental health professionals into Older Adult Centers. On-site clinicians provide mental health information, treatment, and referrals to other community services.
In the Bronx, mental health services at selected centers are provided by JASA's mental health clinic. In Brooklyn and Queens, mental health services are provided by other agencies contracted by DFTA. Please contact the individual center for more information.
HOW CAN I GET A MEAL?
Food options vary by location. The type of meals differ by center and range from grab-and-go to in-person using a reservation system. Please contact your JASA Older Adult Center (phone number below) before arriving in person.
