Kathryn Haslanger has served as JASA’s Chief Executive Officer in 2012. She is responsible for the agency’s $120 million budget, a portfolio of 20+ life-sustaining services, and over 50 locations throughout New York City. Her work assures that more than 40,000 older New Yorkers have access to a range of services of which JASA’s 2,000 staff members provide. For more than 30 years, Kathryn has devoted her career to helping New Yorkers and has held leadership roles in achieving access to care for elderly, disabled, and low-income individuals. Kathryn is a member of the Board of Directors of The Commonwealth Fund and New York eHealth Collaborative. Trained in law and policy analysis, Kathryn has honors degrees from Brown University, Boston College Law School, and Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.
Amy Chalfy is a 30-year veteran of JASA, currently serving as the agency’s Chief Program Officer, Residential, Protective and Legal Services. During her tenure at JASA, she has served in several positions including Associate Director of Group Services, Bronx District Director, Director of Mental Health Services, and Director of Programs. Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Brooklyn College, a Master of Social Work Degree from Hunter College, and a Master of Library and Information Science Degree from Simmons University.
Alan Cohen is JASA’s Chief Program Officer, Congregate, Care, and Behavioral Services, and he oversees all care and behavior services. Alan worked for more than 20 years in corporate social responsibility and international and domestic Jewish communal service. Alan holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Brandeis University and both a Master of Public Policy Degree and Master of Public Administration Degree from Columbia University.
Donna Dougherty is a 30-year veteran of JASA, currently serving as the Senior Director of Legal Services for Elder Justice. In her role, she oversees a 20 person legal team and provides direct legal services to older adults in the areas of evictions and foreclosures, financial exploitation and fraud, public benefits, healthcare, and elder abuse. Donna holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from SUNY Oneonta and a Juris Doctor Degree from SUNY Albany.
Denise Robin Freeman, Executive Director, Human Resources and Diversity, has more than 20 years of experience leading clients by transforming human resources from operational to being strategic and developing HR strategies to ensure that organizations are properly staffed to meet current and future objectives. She holds a Masters in Human Resource Management with a certificate in Organizational Development. She has worked in legal professional services for law firms such as Davis Polk & Wardwell and Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP and was most recently consulted with the Wright Group as Director of Talent Management before joining JASA.
Lana Goykhberg is the Executive Director of Home Care at JASA. She is responsible for the administrative operations of JASA’s Home Care agency, overseeing a staff of more than 900 who serve over 1,000 frail, seniors each year. Previously, Lana was the Associate Executive Director of City Funded Programs for Sunnyside Community Services/Home Care Division. She is a graduate of Molloy College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Lana holds a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Central Michigan University/Brooklyn Campus.
Molly Krawkowski serves as JASA’s Director of Legislative Affairs and is a passionate advocate for senior rights. In her role, she organizes numerous JASA-hosted conferences relating to advocacy, volunteering, mental health, and affordable housing. Molly supports JASA’s work through advocating for seniors’ rights and benefits, and providing education and leadership development workshops for older adults so they can be effective voices for change and recognition in their communities. Molly testifies regularly in front of the NYC Council Committee about supporting the human services sector, and increased funding for senior services and programs.
Meredith Levine is the Senior Director of Information and Case Assistance. Before serving at JASA, Meredith started her career writing grants for a grassroots hunger-fighting agency in rural Florida and has since helped stabilize at-risk families in the South Bronx. She has over 15 years of experience helping families access social services in their communities. Meredith holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Social Work Degree from Columbia University.
Donald Manning is the Executive Director of Real Estate & Management at JASA, overseeing 10 buildings that are home to more than 2,400 older New Yorkers and individuals with disabilities. He works with JASA’s partners in the development of three new affordable senior buildings that once completed, will be home to over 400 older adults. Donald serves on the board of the New York Affordable Housing Management Association and on the Housing Committee of LeadingAgeNY. Donald received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Pace University, and is a graduate of CUNY School of Law.
Danielle Palminsano is a 20-year veteran of JASA, currently serving as the Senior Director of Intensive Services and Business Development. Danielle is responsible for overseeing and providing overall direction to Adult Protective Services and is responsible for strategic development of new business arenas and programs to support JASA’s complex services delivery. Danielle has been quoted in The New York Times and on WABC’s NY Viewpoint. Danielle received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Lehman College and holds a Masters in Social Work from Hunter College School of Social Work.
Aisha Parillon is the Senior Director of Senior Centers for JASA. She is responsible for fostering an inclusive culture among JASA’s 22+ Senior Centers. Through Aisha’s leadership, the program delivers high-quality services that engage a diverse and evolving population of older adults. Aisha holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Fordham University and a Master of Social Work Degree from Hunter College.
Alla Pliss is a 20-year veteran of JASA, currently serving as the Senior Director of NORC Supportive Services. Alla’s responsibilities include oversight, program development, and staff management of JASA’s thirteen Naturally Occurring Communities (NORC) that serve more than 6,500 clients annually. Alla has presented on the topic of Caregiving and Healthy Aging at national conferences. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. Alla received her Masters from Saratov University in Russia and a Masters in Social Work from Hunter College School of Social Work.
Tracy Welsh, JASA's Chief Operating Officer, is responsible for identifying, recommending, and pursuing strategic financial and operational opportunities that keep the organization healthy and able to provide life-enhancing services to more than 40,000 senior New Yorkers. Tracy has a Gerontology Certificate from UCLA and is a recipient of the Social Enterprise Award from the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, NY. SHe is a member of the Age-Friendly New York City Commission, LGBTQ BFO Network, National Women’s AIDS Collective, American Bar Association, and New York City Bar Association. Tracy received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She has her J.D. from the City University of New York School of Law, and a Masters in Public Administration, Advanced Management & Finance, from Columbia University.
Dianne Woodburn has worked at JASA for more than 15 years as Legal Services Supervisor and Supervising Attorney for Queens Legal and Social Work Elder Abuse Prevention and Intervention. As Legal Services Supervisor for the Senior Initiative and Home Retention Programs, Dianne assists seniors who are victims of scams or at risk of foreclosure. As Supervising Attorney for Queens’ Legal and Social Work Elder Abuse Prevention and Intervention program, she works with teams of social workers and attorneys to help older adults fight against physical and financial abuse and exploitation.
