Adolfo Carrión, Jr.
Deputy Mayor for Housing, Economic Development, and Workforce
Adolfo Carrión, Jr. was appointed Commissioner of HPD by Mayor Adams on January 30, 2022, effective February 7, 2022. Prior to the appointment, Mr. Carrión was the CEO of Metro Futures LLC, a real estate development and consulting firm he founded in 2012, whose focus is the development of affordable housing, mixed-use and economic development projects, and strategic planning in the New York City Metro Area. Previously, Mr. Carrión was also the Executive Vice President of Stagg Group, a housing development and management firm, and Senior Advisor for Corporate Development to the CSA Group, the largest Hispanic-owned architecture and engineering firm in the United States. Between 2009 to 2012, Mr. Carrión served as Deputy Assistant to President Barack Obama, as Director of the White House Office of Urban Affairs, and as Regional Administrator for Region II of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Prior to his tenure in the federal government, Mr. Carrión served as Bronx Borough President and as a member of the New York City Council. Mr. Carrión served as President of the National Association of Latino Elected Officials (NALEO), is an Aspen Institute Rodel Fellows alumnus, and has served on numerous boards for non-profit and government entities. Mr. Carrión holds a Bachelor of Arts from the King’s College and a master’s degree in Urban Planning from Hunter College.
Kathryn Haslanger
CEO, JASA
Kathryn Haslanger has served as JASA’s Chief Executive Officer since 2012. She is responsible for the agency’s $120 million budget, a portfolio of 20+ life-sustaining services, and over 50 locations throughout New York City. Her work assures that more than 40,000 older New Yorkers have access to a range of services of which JASA’s 2,000 staff members provide. For more than 30 years, Kathryn has devoted her career to helping New Yorkers and has held leadership roles in achieving access to care for elderly, disabled, and low-income individuals. Kathryn is a member of the Board of Directors of The Commonwealth Fund and New York eHealth Collaborative. Trained in law and policy analysis, Kathryn has honors degrees from Brown University, Boston College Law School, and Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.
Kanika Reddy

Apart from spending her time watching rom-coms on Netflix, Kanika is a dedicated volunteer with a passion for helping others and making a difference in the community! In 2022, Kanika joined JASA on the premise of supporting that goal. There, she has found an amazing opportunity to impact NYC’s elderly in a meaningful way. Through many drives for critical supplies for seniors and uplifting projects, Kanika continues to improve the lives of those in need. With that lifelong goal of creating positive change in the world, Kanika is grateful for JASA for providing her with the incredible opportunity to directly impact the lives of seniors and bring her passion for helping others to life. Through JASA, she’s been able to lead initiatives that not only spread kindness but also inspire others to join her mission of making the world a better place, one act of generosity at a time.
