This position is located in the Bronx and Brooklyn.

General Responsibilities

The Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for developing and conducting outreach for both the Bronx and Brooklyn Friendship Houses in order to raise awareness about the programs in the professional and general communities and recruit clients for the programs


Primary Responsibilities

  • Create structured community outreach plans, including project goals and measurements
  • Perform outreach throughout both the Bronx and Brooklyn, according to the activities projected in the outreach plan
  • Meet with relevant health care, medical, and mental health staff and organizations, local clergy, community organizations, and other community stakeholders to educate them about the Friendship Houses
  • Represent Friendship Houses in Bronx and Brooklyn community fairs, outreach events, and community conferences
  • Create marketing materials
  • Participate in Bronx and Brooklyn Friendship House program meetings
  • Complete required records, reports and statistics, utilizing computers, if so required
  • Perform such other duties as assigned



  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, preferably in a related field including social work, psychology, counseling, gerontology, mental health or marketing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and concisely (both in writing and orally)
  • Experience in public speaking
  • Desire and ability to work collaboratively and thoughtfully as part of a committed, integrated team
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to solve problems, prioritize work, work independently, and excel in a high-performance culture
  • Ambitious, innovative and creative

  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to travel using mass transit
