Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide technical guidance to ensure that assets and client funds are used for the personal interest and well being of the client.
• Complete, submit and follow-up on forms for the IRS (including tax returns), Veteran’s Administration, Social Security Administration and the courts (among others).
• Generate, verify, submit and follow-up on accounting reports.
• Complete, verify, submit and follow-up on forms for the IRS, Veteran’s Administration, Social Security Administration and the Courts (among others).
• Marshal and manage client assets and entitlements.
• Provide required financial summaries and reports as required by the Court, Board, funding source or governmental agencies.
• Verify income of clients and appropriate expenditures as recommended.
• Establish and reconcile bank account(s) for new and existing clients.
• Manage and reconcile cash disbursements.
• Develop, maintain and manage client budgets.
• Manage client financial resources within budget constraints.
• Investigate any unusual bills or transactions.
• Attend to and oversee off-site banking needs.
• Communicate and negotiate with vendors, suppliers and landlords on behalf of our clients, including invoice dispute resolution.
• Communicate with County clerks, securing and filing of bonds required by courts.
• Review and approve transactions entered by CGP financial staff and print checks for all payables.
• Task, monitor, supervise, train, evaluate and assist a team of accountants.
• Provide social worker team with information necessary to obtain benefits for our clients.
• Assist in the development of office procedures, workflows, tasking and schedules.
• Assist Financial Manager with other duties.
• Identify weaknesses and strengths in Finance team processes and skill sets to support improvements.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.


• Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting or finance preferred.
• Minimum five years of previous experience in accounting or auditing, with a minimum of two of those years in a supervisory role.
• Ability to effectively read, write and speak in English.
• Strong two-way communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to apply critical thinking and problem solving to your task execution and work product is essential.
• Computer literate in database, spreadsheet, and word processing.
• Familiarity with financial accounting software preferred.
• Willing and able to learn technology tools to support position duties.
• Highly detailed, accurate and willing to take ownership of one’s work product.
• Able to work productively in a high volume team environment.
• Willing and able to accept and offer assistance when needed.
• Understanding and appreciation of the roles of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual preference and individual values as they relate to serving clients and their families.
