Who assumes legal responsibility for an elderly adult in the community when that person is unable to take care of his or her own affairs? Through appointment by the New York City courts, JASA is legally allowed to become the guardian. This program is funded by the New York City Human Resources Administration.
JASA becomes responsible for:
- Crisis intervention
- Financial management
- Intensive case management
- Oversight of daily activities
