JASA Partners with Goldman Sachs on Two Special Events

JASA is pleased to announce that it has partnered with the venerable investment bank, Goldman Sachs, to connect its employees with JASA seniors through the firm’s Community TeamWorks program. 

JASA became a Goldman Sachs Community TeamWorks partner for the first time this year and created two special one-day events for Goldman Sachs employees.  Special Community TeamWorks projects were designed for the Long Beach Senior Center on Long Island and the Roy Reuther Senior Center in the Far Rockaway section of Queens.  The Community TeamWorks program gives Goldman Sachs employees a day to participate in community service activities at pre-selected nonprofit organizations in New York City and the surrounding area. 

At the Roy Reuther center in Queens, volunteers participated in an outdoor planting and beautification project before setting up a fabulous beach BBQ for the center’s seniors.  Seniors and volunteers ended the day enjoying a BBQ lunch and a beautiful day at the beach. 

On Long Island, Goldman Sachs volunteers helped create a real Hawaiian luau at the Long Beach Senior Center. Volunteers spent the day decorating the center, helping serve a special evening meal, making delicious tropical “mocktails”, and enjoying a performance by a traditional Hawaiian hula dancer. 

JASA is grateful to Goldman Sachs for making these special events possible and looks forward to collaborating on more Community TeamWorks projects next year.
