    Description

    In this workshop we will explore the unique dynamics and challenges of addressing victimization for older LGBT women and men, identify best practices in interviewing, assessment and safety planning, and provide resources that would assist clients who are reluctant to access help or are unaware of available services. The curriculum will focus on different aspect of the complex realities of elder abuse, highlighting the unique realities of how elder abuse is viewed by the LGBT community. The workshop provides in-depth training on the identification of red flags, evidence based social and legal interventions, and ongoing recommendations for the coordination of services for this vulnerable population.


    FEES

    $40 plus $35 for CEH or CLE
    CEH provided. CLE pending.

    NY Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits are pending for this workshop courtesy of St. John's University School of Law.

    Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service is the provider of social work continuing education hours (CEH), as approved by the New York State Education Department Board of Social Work.

    Three (3) CEH credits are available for this workshop for an additional fee.
