  • COMMUNITY SPACE AT JASA SENIOR HOUSING
    $10,000
Creates an outdoor seating area and garden where seniors can gather and socialize.

NEED: Many older adults suffer from loneliness and isolation. It is an issue with proven health, mental health, and financial consequences. Socialization and communal places to meet and gather enable older adults to be part of a larger community.

  • ART PROGRAMMING
    $7,500
Naming of JASA’s Brookdale Village Senior Art Program for a full year.
(exclusive opportunity - only one will be sold!)

NEED: Art has proven therapeutic benefits that improve health and mental health. JASA’s Brookdale Village Senior Center in Far Rockaway is among the JASA locations offering exceptional Art programming. Senior artists create museum-quality artwork that is displayed throughout the year at different exhibits.

  • ELDER ABUSE
    $5,000
Ten victims of elder abuse can receive the legal and social work support they need to address and overcome the abuse.
  • HOME DELIVERED MEALS
    $2,500
Over 300 nutritious, life-sustaining meals can be delivered to frail, homebound older adults by a caring meals driver who also serves as a social connection and a safety net.

NEED: Inability to cook for yourself due to frailty or disability forces many older adults to leave their homes and enter nursing homes. Homebound older adults also suffer from isolation.

  • ADVOCACY EFFORTS ON BEHALF OF SENIORS
    $1,000
Supports JASA’s advocacy efforts to ensure older adults have access to vital benefits that will enable them to remain in their homes.

NEED: Government funding for senior services accounts for less than half of 1% of the New York City budget, despite the fact that older adults represent 20% of the population. Older people are more at-risk and in need of services.

  • ESSENTIAL DAILY-LIVING SERVICES
    $500
An older adult can receive essential social services and benefits including food stamps, home delivered meals, and home care with the help of a caring and compassionate case manager.

NEED: Often, older adults and their families find themselves in crisis and in need of assistance. Navigating financial and community resources, daily living needs, and managing health concerns, can be daunting and overwhelming.
