General Responsibilities:

JASA’s Far Rockaway Housing Division seeks experienced clerk to direct residents, applicants, and visitors to appropriate staff for service.  Schedule appointments.  Write and dispatch work orders for the Far Rockaway portfolio.  Responsible for daily intake of phone calls and walk-ins. Must be computer-literate. Must possess excellent customer service skills, and be fluent in Russian.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities:


Perform clerical functions, such as filing, copying, drafting correspondence, etc.
Meet, greet and direct all resident and visitor traffic to appropriate parties (i.e. Occupancy Specialists, Rental Clerk, District Property Manager and all other office personnel.
Receive work orders, update work order log and maintain up to date work order files by filing completed work orders weekly.
Provide regular reports on work order statistics as required.
Dispatch service requests to Operation Manager and/or designated supervisor regularly during the course of the business day.
Answer phone lines for office and direct callers to appropriate parties, take messages as needed from callers.
Check voice mail regularly in the a.m. and p.m. hours and deliver messages to appropriate parties.
Assist in the processing of weekly payroll.
Preparation and distribution of resident correspondence as needed to residents.
Open incoming mail and distribute daily.
Conduct research and prepare statistical reports and other projects as assigned by District Property Manager, Director of Housing and/or other Corporate Officers. 
Provide translation services for Russian-speaking clients/tenants.
Perform other related tasks as requested or assigned.


Requirements:

High school graduate or G. E. D. preferred.
Working knowledge of property management, resident relations and general office procedures.
Must have strong computer skills. Should be proficient in Microsoft Office and Google suites, plus be capable of learning new software as needed.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong organization and communication skills.
The ability to write and speak Russian is strongly preferred.
