Riverton Aging in Place is a partnership between JASA and A&E Real Estate Holdings. The program consists of a social work/nursing program at the Riverton Housing Complex. The goal of this initiative is to promote successful and safe community living through the provision of an interdisciplinary social and health care model.  Programs and services will include individual counseling, assistance and advocacy around benefits and entitlements, health and wellness screenings and liaison support with health providers with the aim of empowering residents to address the challenges of aging with appropriate resources and support.



  • Provides overall direction and administration of all programs and services at Riverton and supervises the procedure followed by staff to implement the programs and services including: social work services, program development and implementations, volunteer services, purchasing and inventory of office equipment/supplies.
  • Outreach to Riverton Square residents
  • Organize focus groups of tenants to assess needs and interests
  • Design a program of educational and recreational activities
  • Supervise a social worker and program consultants, and collaborate with onsite nurse
  • Carry a small caseload of clients
  • Works with Riverton Tenants Association
  • Assist RAP members to create a tenant advisory committee
  • Recruit and supervise volunteers, in conjunction with JASA Volunteer Department
  •  Facilitate discussion groups
  • Attends community and agency meetings. Note: This will include some evenings and /or weekends.
  • Functions as agency liaison to community, individuals, and organizations and to Riverton community partners.
  • Maintains records and statistics.
  • Orders program supplies and materials, maintains inventory, may supervise us or equipment and facilities.
  • Monitors and manages site budgets.
  • Participate in the submission of applications for private, local and state funding
  • Additional responsibilities as required.


  • A graduate of an accredited school of social work with M.S.W. or equivalent Masters-level degree,
  • Five years of related social work experience or its equivalent, preferred.
  • Excellent writing and record keeping skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Proficiency in Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • An understanding and appreciation of the roles of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual preference, and individual values have as they relate to serving clients and families.
  • Evenings and/or weekends as assigned by District Director or designee.
