SUMMARY:              Responsible for managing JASACare’s home attendant timesheet and payroll process.  Ensuring that JASACare’s payroll is processed accurately, in a timely manner and in compliance with applicable wage and hour and OMIG requirements. Supervise and develop payroll and compliance staff.



  • Ensure the timely and accurate processing of biweekly payroll and payment of wages through checks and direct deposit.
  • Oversight of Time/ Task sheets Exceptions Resolutions process including automated and manual Time/ Task sheets management.
  • Reduce percentage of manual timesheets through regular reporting highlighting current causes, creating timely revenue and efficiency.
  • Prepare and report employee worked hours and send a monthly file to the Union.
  • Oversee the transition of the scheduling system to the payroll system. Reconcile any variance between the systems.
  • Ensure all employees are paid in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and applicable wage and hour requirements.
  • Prepare and monitor vacation accruals.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures as they relate to payroll.
  • Prepare and monitor union dues reimbursement analysis.
  • Ability to create and analyze reports on an as needed basis.
  • Analyze current payroll policies and procedures and recommend best practices for efficiency and accuracy. Keep current in trends and regulations as they relate to the payroll function.
  • Ensure the accurate processing of all mandatory and voluntary deductions as well as garnishments, liens, direct deposit requests, etc.
  • Respond to inquiries and verifications for unemployment and other payroll-related data.
  • Escalate breach in compliance to supervisor.
  • Develop/Implement methods for tracking/reporting timesheet compliance.
  • Conduct monthly audits on time sheets and verification of exceptions to ensure execution of compliance standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned



  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • Prior experience in home care preferred
  • Payroll experience preferred
  • Proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Suite, Gmail and software systems applicable to the payroll/billing/collections functions
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze complex problems and recommend/implement solutions
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Must maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Advanced Excel skills required 
  • Must be computer literate, including ability to learn and use program-specific software.
